Eyjafjallajokull Eruption Forces Europe to Think Local?

More reason to think local for many things – we can see how vulnerable we are now – air today Peak oil tomorrow?

via Robert Paterson’s Weblog: Volcano & Air Travel – A Black Swan? What might happen.

What it means: interesting insight from Robert Paterson, President of The Renewal Consulting Group. Based on past eruptions (the Mount Tambora one from 1815 for example), the no-fly situation could last weeks or even months. This means more local products/services consumptions, shorter distance vacations (more train travel), virtual meetings/videoconference, etc. Could this become a business opportunity for anyone promoting local?
