M-LAW’s tenth annual wacky warning label contest just crowned its winners including a warning found on the cover of the Augusta BellSouth Yellow Pages Companion Book.
Submitted by Ronald Hyman of Augusta, Georgia, the warning cautions users: “Please do not use this directory while operating a moving vehicle.”
For their defense, the Companion book is supposed to be left in the car and serves people on the go. The contest, now in its tenth year, is conducted by Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch, M-LAW, to reveal how lawsuits, and concern about lawsuits, have created a need for common sense warnings on products.
