As reported by Businessweek, internet video blogger Amanda Congdon, best known as the news anchor for Rocketboom, has just signed on as a contributor for the ABC television network. She’s the latest internet star to jump to mainstream media, an indicator that traditional media are “reaching out” to the web to win (win back?) the viewers that, well, don’t watch TV any more. It’s still surprising to this blogger how wide the chasm is between traditional media and the internet.
What it means: Offline and online media are one, the experience is what matters to users, it needs to be seamless. My bet, YouTube, or whatever comes up behind it, will be the bigger TV network(s) in five years.
Absolutely right. This the same in France where TF1, the number 1 tv channel use « Watcast » to find new talent.
